The difference in almost 1,200m of altitude between the highest opening to the bottom of the cave is one of the marvels of the site. The structural complexity of the cave is what makes the Corchia karstic system so unique, characterized by a network of openings in the marble and dolomite rock, which is approximately 2 km in length, 1 km in width and almost 1,200 m in height.
